Dog Grooming in Athens Georgia Area

Want to meet our Groomer?  Click here.

A standard groom includes: one day stay, a bath, nail trim, express anal glands, pluck ear hairs if needed and a haircut. We can give you a rough estimate, but the cost can fluctuate depending on the size of the dog, the condition of the hair coat, the frequency of grooming, the pet’s disposition during the groom, whether or not sedation by the veterinarian is needed and the overall time involved in the process.

Our groomer also offers shave down services (shaving the coat to remove matted fur and trimming the coat for a pleasing appearance).

Frequently asked Questions

How long will my pet be at the groomer? Typically your pet will stay from 8am to about 5pm. Some pets may be done before this and we will call once they are complete, but be prepared for them to spend the majority of the day with us. The groom process involves pre-trimming, bathing, drying and the actual haircut. Many pets come in at the same time and our groomer efficiently works through all the tasks involved. We will try to get each pet done as quickly as possible.

What vaccines are required for grooming? All dogs must be current on their Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza, Bordetella and Rabies. All cats must be current on Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia and Rabies. You must have written proof of these vaccines or we can call your veterinary clinic to verify these. We will require these vaccines if they are not current. These can be done on your groom visit.

What if my pet has fleas or ticks? We are a parasite free facility. These parasites can carry serious diseases. We do not want your pet or others to go home with parasites. If we find fleas or ticks your pet will be treated and you will be charged for the flea treatment. Ask us about excellent flea and tick products.

What is the latest I can pick up my pet from grooming? We close and lock the doors at 6pm. Any pet left after this will be boarded at the usual boarding rate. We open on weekdays at 7:30am.

Can the veterinarian look at my pet while it is being groomed? Yes. We would be happy to have a look at your pet while it is here for any medical issue. There will be a doctor consultation fee if this service is requested.

Can my dog come for just a bath? Yes. You can schedule this anytime. Our groomer doesn’t have to do these. This services doesn’t take long and we can get these done fairly quickly.

Can I purchase flea control and heartworm prevention while my pet is there? Yes. As long as your heartworm test is current we can sell you heartworm prevention. We also have a variety of flea and tick control products for you to choose from.

Can I board my pet overnight if my schedule doesn’t work well? Yes. We offer full service pet lodging. Please ask about these services. They may come in the night before or stay the night of your grooming appointment.
